Also, can we please stop letting people sit outside car shows waiting for cars to leave and then uploading on them onto here? People have been banned in the past for doing the exact same thing, and they really aren't "spots" to begin with.

These are called psuedo-spots. Some of these shots are really nice, captures the beauty of the car on the road. If they are exceptional, I will accept them, but only if the true details are revealed in the description. We will be categorizing these as psuedo spots to separate them from real spottings. Users will be able to filter these out (along with photoshoots) if they only want to see real spottings.

Are spottings of spectator cars from car shows going to be put under the same category?

There is one psuedo-spot I am going to be posting in the next few weeks, gregg I've already messaged you about it and will explain the circumstances of it in the description. Gregg knows because of the message I sent him, not going to say what it is anywhere else though...

I know this will likely be put into the psuedo spot category, but since it is such a big event that people post from on ES, will Car Week spots have their category?

Yes, all cars spotted near a car show, regardless of whether they are in the show or not will be categorized as pseudo spots.

I've made the mistake of giving out some date estimates in the past, this thing just takes longer than expected. Just know that we are working hard on the new site, we want to make the best spotting site hands down and are committed to this goal. This is our side project, we have full-time jobs elsewhere, so we're working on it as quickly as we can. Sorry can't give exact estimates, but it's definitely coming.

As part of the redesign project, we will be improving the categorization drastically, so yes, we will eventually have detailed categorization on each spot, down to the level of which car show it was spotted near. However, this will not be part of the first phase of redesign, but will come in phase 2 or 3.

How soon is the redesign coming?

You uploaded some low-quality shots in the past and your account is on manual review now. You only get automated posts if you consistently upload only feature-worthy shots. Manual review is usually done within 12 - 24 hours.

Does this mean car rally photos could be posted and accepted as psuedo spots? Because I recall in the past they'd always get deleted. Example: Gumball 3000, as long as it isn't in the checkpoint?

If it's not near the checkpoints, AND the shot is really good, then yeah they can be accepted. The main thing I look for is this: Does the shot bring out the beauty of the car? Just because you take a photo near a show or rally doesn't mean it will be featured, it still takes skill and some creativity to get featured. The level of quality I expect is much higher near shows and rallys however.
