Unfortunately, in the UK, the police enjoy pulling you over for having the plate inside the windshield, if they notice it.

i still maintain that license plates should go on the inside of the windshield for these exotics - next to where you'd put the registration on the bottom left in cars and trucks in the US. They would be highly visible to the authorities and everyone else, readable, bright. And it would keep the exteriors from being spoiled and looking garish
