Porsche 911 GT2 spotted in Hong Kong, China

Details on This Porsche 911 GT2:

  • Location
    Hong Kong, China
  • Description
This porsche looks like a GT2 but only has GT written on the back and on the rear spoiler, i looked online but there doesn't seem to be any information on it so i'm not entirely sure if its an official model. Also note the Afla Spyder parked in front of it.

The 1993-1997 GT2 had 430 bhp, but in 1998 it was boosted up to 450. There's never been a 465 bhp first gen gt2, unless it's tuned.

i'm afraid the only photos i have of this have been uploaded but if i walk past it again i'll take some better photos, btw this car was for sale, it was just sitting on the street (so i wouldn't consider it a showroom photo) i'll try to make out the price from the higher res photo or just visit it again tomorrow and find out

This is indeed a 993 gt2. Awesome car and very rare, I've only ever seen one and at the time I wasn't the Porsche fanatic am today so I didn't know how special it is. It is the racing version of the 993 turbo and came in only RWD(which is proper IMO), the car was only produced to meet homologation standards in order for the racing version to qualify. Judging from the lack of orange in the taillights, and also the GT badge rather than GT2( which was standard for the later models)I would also say this is 1998 or later model, therefore this is the rare twin ignition 450-465 bhp engine. This is a highly sought after Porsche, probably the most sought after 993 model excluding the speedster. The GT badge is a dead giveaway that this is an ultra rare car, it was only badged as such for the late model GT2s, I don't know any production figures off the top of my head but it's safe to say very few of these cars were produced and when they go up for sale they go for a pretty penny, well over the original msrp. Very nice find, I would like to see more if you have any. 10*
