    Don't know if this is exotic enough to post, but I can't even remember the last time I saw a Lancia on the streets. Spotted what I think is a Beta driving down Academy St in downtown Cary

Group B being shut down had nothing to do with it because their biggest achievment in rallysport came afterwards withe the Delta integrale wich was not a group B rally car. first, The Italians just don't seem to know how to take advantage of their succes in the sport. Second, They didden't go bankrupt but mothercompany Fiat had beside Lancia also Alfa Romeo and Maserati wich were in the same luxury car market wich was to much in a market with big competition from brands like Mercedes, audi, Lexus and so on. So Fiat, wich was for a while in bad papers, pulled out the plug in favor of Alfa Romeo and Maserati. Today Lancia is still alive, although barely.

Yeah I used to own a Thema, but the company ceased in the UK in 1994 I think (a shame but they had a poor reputation from the 80's)

Today Lancia doesn't even exist no more in Europe, they just make one model for the Italian market ( the "Y", some small not very exciting citycar) and that's it, no more intergrale's, stratos or other rally Champions, lancia is,even today, still the most succesful Rally participant ever. The car you spotted is a Beta Zagato Spider.

Oh yeah I know Lancia I just have never seen this particular model. In Italy I saw a bunch of Lancia badged Chrysler 300's, kind of sad they went from rally cars to that.

There are a bunch of kind of obscure Italian cars floating around out there. Lancia is pretty legendary but now has basically been reduced to badge-engineered Fiats and whatnot.
