I tried searching the plate, and it came back as a Porsche 944...Probably a rep of one of those. I've seen quite an unconvincing 250 GTO before, based on a Datsun 240Z. I could instantly tell with the usage of Yellow/White plates and having Amber coloured indicators.

Not to be a downer, but there are some very convincing kit car versions of this available. Either way it looks cool.
