What I mean by AMG kitted, is that it's an unofficial AMG. Prior to the release of the 1986 AMG Hammer W124, AMG offered various levels of AMG performance packages and basic body kits on various models and widebodies for the W126. Anything before 1986 is considered AMG tuned no matter how extensive the tune was.

@MrSLCC: No. The AMG Hammer is based on the W124 E-Class. This 389SEC AMG is based one the W126 S-Class Coupe.
