Dealer plates work most of the time. That's what our people here in Texas do. We have a SLR Stirling Moss and a handful of Monzas driving around on dealer tags. Sometimes the Ferrari dealer will manage it for you. Or people will apply to be an independent dealer and run their own plates.

I've seen pictures of them on dealer plates and driving that way but that's the only way I think. He might've put the plate of his other car on it to drive because I know the only U.S SLR Sterling Moss gets driven that way.
