I have decided to make a forum topic about these cars. They aren't necessarily cars that most people pay attention to, they don't look that exciting, but they are rare enough so car guys know what they are. Most people consider them junk, but others see beauty in them. These are known as "survivor" cars. They are cars that were produced way back when as normal production vehicles, and should have been junked by now, but somehow, somebody took good care of it and is still using it as their daily means of transportation. Here are some that I have caught:



Volvo 242 GT at Lime Rock Park



1978 Ford Mustang II with a Ghia package on it.



1988 Jeep Cherokee



1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88



1980 Pontiac Grand Le Mans



1989 Volvo 780 Bertone Turbo Coupe (1 of only 8,518 produced)



1988 Plymouth Colt DL Wagon



1989 Peugeot 405 Mi16 (there's three more at my local gas station right now)

There used to be someone who worked at a local drugstore who drove an Alfa Romeo sedan of some sort. I haven't seen it there in a while though. I see a ton of those '70s and '80s GM cars driving around in lower-end areas of Raleigh and Charlotte. They're usually donked out with 28" chrome wheels with rubber bands for tires lol.

Wow, can't believe this thread caught on. I started taking pictures of these cars because I'm currently logging all of the classic vehicles registered in Connecticut using the "Early American/Classic Vehicle" plates to see if I can find them all. I put them into chronological order by plate number so I can see which came first and which came last. Here's some more I have found:

1991 Subaru Loyale (didn't take a front pic because this was in Norwalk at night and I didn't feel like getting shot that night)



Mazda pickup truck of some sort, no clue what model it is.
