Oh boy..sigh. I know I'm going to start some controversy here and believe me, that is not what I want to do.

First off, Jason did NOT ask me to write anything to anyone or anything like that. I am doing this for my own conscience. Jason only messaged me and told me that because of his latest post on the forums (http://www.exoticspotter.com/forum/offtopic/this-isn-t-funny-t1009/#post17839), he has been banned from the forums for a month and a few minutes after that, the ban was extended until December.

I believe, as well as the rest of you should, that the photo in question is perfectly legal. It is a spot. It follows ALL of the rules of this website. The fact that the car is on the very bottom of the shot/a little (and I mean a little) bit cut off is absolutely trivial. While it was wrong of him to reupload the photo 3 times, the act was instigated by the moderator who deleted the photo. Moderator, if you want to delete photos like the one in question, fine, but delete them regardless of who uploads them and make it a rule of this website to have absolutely 100% of the car in the shot. Given the circumstances, I do believe that this photo was deleted solely because the uploader was Jason. I know, I know, nobody wants to hear "spotter discrimination" but that's my opinion.

In conclusion, I believe the act (even the forum post) was instigated by whoever deleted his photos and I am making this post to advocate for his reduced penalty as I personally believe the ban is excessive and should be (at the very least) reduced. Believe it or not, this kid cares more about this website than most of us, even though he sometimes has a funny way of showing it.

And yes, I have been here long enough to witness some of his wrongdoings and I have been annoyed/argued with him in the past. This doesn't effect anything.

Cue responses from people who think that I'm responsible for this.

I think Danny summed up pretty well how many of us feel about his forum posts on the one he made earlier today.

Well in his defense most of his shots are legal and good quality. Now his forum posts are ridiculous and just completely unnecessary.

I totally agree with this post.

Like, give the guy a break. I've uploaded way worse photos than that one (Example), and they didn't get taken down. And even though part of the car was cut off in Jason's picture, it was a really nice, clear picture, and it wasn't blurry or anything. Even if the rules are more strictly enforced now than they were before, Jason's McLaren picture does deserve to stay on the sight. Jason is a high-rated spotter who has brought a lot to this sight. And although not all that he has brought has been particularly beneficial to the site, it wouldn't be that bad to let him upload that McLaren.

I understand you guys are upset but he was being targeted (that is quite obvious here) and chose to do something about it publicly. Sure he could've went about it another way but a 3 month ban is a bit much.

I don't think this really has anything to do with that photo. From the post it sounds like he is banned because he made a forum post about it complaining (like he has done many many times).

The photo is not good. The whole car isn't even in the photo and the ES watermark would cover much of the car if it was posted. For whatever reason the photo was deleted, I don't know why he made such a big deal about it. I've have had some of my photos deleted before. So what? It happens to everyone.

I know it happens to everyone, I'm not saying it doesn't. I'm saying the punishment does not fit the crime. Fine, let the kid crop it so that the car isn't so small in the shot. Ban him for 3 months when he breaks a rule and knows he's breaking a rule. Not when he asks the community why his photo is taken down. I know he's done it like 10 times before. Ban him for a week, perhaps he'll learn his lesson. If it doesn't work, ban him for a month, etc.

Maybe you are confused by his messages he sent you. Based on the messages he sent me and what I saw today, this forum ban has absolutely nothing to do with posting a bad photo. That would make no sense at all. The forum ban is because he will not stop making negative forum posts complaining.

Of course, I understand that it's about the negative forum posts. I don't know how that photo looks with the ES logo but at least without it, you have to admit, if anyone else posted it, nobody would care. The act of deleting the photo just because it was posted by Jason prompted him to make the forum post. If someone pushed you just because your name was Andrew, you'd push back. He was only pushing back in the only way he could.

I don't think it was only because of him at all. If I posted a photo like that it would probably be deleted too. It is not a good photo and brings down the quality and standards of the whole site. And if I did post a photo that was removed without reason, I would just move on and not post it again. I don't see what the issue is here.
