I'm asking a load of stuff for Christmas from my family;
I'm lucky is I get one of these things

Nikon D3200
Lightroom 5
Aluminium Tripod
Flower petal lens
Extra battery
Lumia 925!

Anything else?

Polarising filter....I've said on many posts about people getting DSLR's, get a Polarising filter. It reduces reflections and creates that 'rainbow' effect on headlights. Even a cheaper one from Amazon works wonders with vehicle photography. Just make sure what the diameter of your lens is before hand.

Could you name one that works with the D3200?

Well do you know the diameter of the lens that comes with it? If so, just search 'Polarizing filter 'xx'mm', the 'xx' being what the diameter of the lens is...

Forget the d3200 for dummies. You don't need it. There's literally a guide in the camera.. a whole tutorial as well as a button that you can press anytime that tells you what anything does. A guide book would just be redundant. Don't waste money on that lol

Nice choice on cameras.

Get a Manfrotto/Bogen or Vanguard tripod if you buy one of those.

Flower petal lens? What is that? I think you mean a normal lens with a flower petal lens hood.

And definately get a polarizer. They are correct in saying the 18-55 that comes with the D3200 has 52mm front threads so just look that up. If you want some help picking which one you want, i'd HIGHLY recommend the Hoya HD Circ. Polarizer. It's fairly expensive compared to the cheap ones you'll find on the internet but it's more than worth the extra money if you want the best filter at a medium price. You could always step up to the $100+ H+W's but it's pointless when you get almost the same thing with the HD. It's multilayered to reduce the bad flares and increase the polarization, high density glass to make it near impossible to scratch it, the layers are inside the glass so you dont get uneven coating and the layers dont rub off when you clean it, and it's a thin rim filter with front threads to avoid vignetting and stil accomidate a lens hood.

Ok, I've scrapped the book, I've put on the Hoya HD circ 52mm. And thus tripod http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00361EC1S/ref=cm_sw_em_r_am_it_am_gb?ie=UTF8
And a 3 year warranty
Also a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Lens
And yes, I do mean a flowerpetal hood
