I think ES could use a makeover, BUT... I think if the mods were friendlier it would attract more people, the mods don't even spot that much.

the mods probably don't give a cr*p about us. we could use better moderators IMO

Mods or admins? The moderators were carefully selected and have saved this site from plenty more distractions without anyone even noticing. I don't think this falls on us.

I think this site would benefit extremely by letting you like pics without an acct!

But how does that prevent the same person from liking the same photos over and over? If you have an account then it ensures that each person gets just the vote tied to that account. If they didn't have an account, there wouldn't be a way to stop it. I agree that people just passing through should be able to like a photo, but it also means that users could sign out and blow up photos.

That wouldn't be a bad thing. Plus who would even take the time to do that

People already make multiple accounts now to do that, so those people do exist. Egomaniacs certainly would to improve their ranking, because apparently people care about that.

I hope you guys will be happy because I bought my first dslr for car spotting. This site seems to get busy in august due to car week. All of us active car spotters can say this site is awesome, but the problem is only a few people are into posting car pics.

I agree with a lot of the stuff that you guys have been saying. I have been a lot less active on this site as of late; I guess I'm just not as interested in it as I used to. There has been a Facebook group set up for spotting in my area, and my photos get much more attention there. In fact, after acquiring over 4000 members, the privacy settings had to be changed because it was getting too hard to handle all the people. Also, I generally just haven't been spotting as much. Sometimes, if I spot something like an F430, I just don't post it because I know it won't get much attention. I think I've reached a big dilemma regarding this site. I've grown bored of all the similar cars and similar shots being posted and I want to find a way to make it more exciting, like it used to be to me. But then I think to myself, what do I really have to offer? It's not like I'm getting any great spots or taking any spectacular shots of cars in the wild, so how can I expect that of everyone else? I have been going to a lot of car meets and dealers lately, and I have been seeing some amazing cars and getting some very good shots there, but I can only post on Flickr and the Facebook group because they're not legit spots.

Here are some of my ideas for improvements for this site:

. Photos should be better quality. I don't really mean that people need to become better photographers (although that wouldn't hurt), I mean that it would be better if shots taken with a high-quality camera wouldn't be compressed so much. I don't really like how pixely my photos get. I understand that they might make the site run more slowly, but there has to be some way around that. I guess they don't need to be full, original quality, but I think they should at least be as good as Facebook quality.

. There should be different ways to organize the photos you see. It would be cool if there was a way to single out photos in your state or even your region. It would also be cool to be able to sort them by spotting date along with upload date.

. There should be a section for non-legit spots! I haven't gotten many legit spots in the past few months, but I have seen some truly amazing cars and have gotten some really impressive shots (that's up to you, of course) at car meets and dealers, but sometimes I can only post them on Flickr, where I'm still not that popular yet. The only real problem with this is that there would probably be tons of shots, especially old shots that people have been wanting to post.

. The limit of 1000 favorites should be removed, or at least extended. I do occasionally come across a really amazing car or shot on this site, but I can only give it a like and not a favorite. I'm tired of having to go into my older favorites and delete other people's shots just to favorite newer ones.

. It would also be cool if you could view the photos on your profile in different orders, like by upload date, by spotting date, etc, but that's not really an issue.

Sorry for the tl;dr, I just wanted to get some points in.
