Gotta go with Henry here because it would be a faster and better car for pretty much the same price IMO. The S3 is one of the best "sport sedans" out there for less than $50,000.

Well, those are kind of difficult cars to compare.
One is sporty and quite small. It will likely be faster than the Mercedes, but I'm sure you'll get cramped if you're ever stuck in the back seat. Plus the interior quality will likely not be as good.
The other is more luxurious if specced correctly. Not only this, but it's also a slightly bigger car.

That's what I was thinking...they don't really compare. (The A3/S3 is more of a CLA-Class competitor).
I guess I'd go with the S3 if it isn't going to be used to haul the whole family around in.
