the I has a flip out screen as well as higher megapixels. There's a few other differences too.

What's so great about a flip-out screen?

If you want/need to take a picture without using the viewfinder, you can use the screen instead.

My camera doesn't have a flip out screen but i only use the Viewfinder. And if you really need to use your camera at angles like that, just buy an "anglefinder" it hooks onto your viewfinder and lets you see it at a 90 degree angle.

I have shot with both and I like the T3i more.

Well, the turning screen is for if you were taking photos where you physically could not see through the viewfinder because your eye can't get to it in any way. I use it on occasion if I'm using my knee as a makeshift tripod in darker shots (it doesn't work well, but it's better than holding it).

Yeah, when i take those i just have to guess my angles and check it after then redo it if it's wrong. It's a pain but it works for me.
