So for my 18th birthday I get a new car and while that is a good 6 months away I've already started thinking about it and I've got it down to a few I really like but I can't decide which one and since you guys obviously know what you're talking about I thought I'd ask your opinion. The car needs to be an everyday driver, cost >30k (give or take), and last me 4 years (probably around 35k miles). Gas prices and all that isn't an issue (as long as the car dosen't explode on me), it can be small but a little room for my friends to ride would be nice. This is what I've kind of narrowed it down to.

A VERY used Quattroporte
A Used Boxster/Cayman
A Used Jaguar XK Convertible
A Used S550

If you have any other suggestions that'd be fine but I pretty set on getting one of the above. Which do you guys think I should get? Thanks in advance.

I would go for the S550 because it gots lots of room, nice ride, its a Merc, so it will go for ages and its nice and comfortable. I would choose the Boxster/Cayman but there is not much space at all.

Yeah thats why I'm considering it pretty much, that and we owned one before we got our BMW and I loved it. The only probably I have with it is it isn't very sporty.

Get something that wont kill you and your friends, or anyone on the road near you. At 18 you should not be driving anything with the sort of power you suggest as you have little experience.

I drive a Mustang now so nothing I've listed would be a massive improvement in performance. I appreciate your concern but I've always driven things like that and never had any accidents, except someone knocking my mirror off in a parking lot while I was inside.

You say you have always driven things like that, but really how many years have you been driving, and how many miles have you driven, at 17 you are not really a experienced driver?

Which Mustang as some I would not class as a performance car.

I've been driving 2 and a half years now, first year with someone 21+ in the car. I have a 2007 Mustang V6 convertible with flowmaster, headers, cool air intake, and a bama performance kit. As I said though my dad has a Jaguar XK which I drive every few days and my girlfriend had a Corvette that I would also drive often.

I know people are going to yell and say no as soon as i say this (spotter discrimination, lol, jk) but i'm most likely buying a used Rolls Royce as my first car. Maybe you want to consiter one if money really isn't an issue as far as repairs, gas, tires, and parts.

Some other cars i've been looking at are the Lotus Esprits and a (2nd) nice luxurious Cadillac Escalade.

My parents are buying it for me as a birthday/graduation gift. We spend a large amount of our money on cars.

I'll look into them, but I've never been a big BMW fan.

My dad had a vintage rolls back when I was younger and it spent more time in the shop than on the road so not sure if he'd bite on me always having to borrow a car (i'll be in college several hours away), as far as an Escalade goes, my mom recently crashed our family car and I think we're probably going to get one of those to replace it (or an Infiniti) so no point in having two of them haha.
