Okay Everyone,

I found a computer I want to buy. It's an Alienware that is close to $9,000. It has two CPU's, two NVidia GeForce GTX graphics cards with 24 GB of dedicated memory, 32 GB of DDR3 RAM @ 2,133 MHz, and an Intel Core i7 Quad-Core running @ 3.9 GHz.

I want it to play Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. My MacBook Pro didn't come with a NVidia GeForce like other ones did. The specs are as following: 4 GB of DDR3 RAM @1,600 MHz, Intel Core i5 @2.5 GHz, Intel HD 4000 Graphics.

Thanks for your help!

WELL, not JUST for COD. Other things as well. I'm a SERIOUS gamer and have a HUGE collection.

No. Alienware is the definition of buying for the brand there will be much cheaper alternatives with the same processing power if you search for them.

$9k for a $60 game you can pirate for free on PC? Unless you're trying to become a professional gamer that's just ridiculous. Even if you were a professional gamer it would probably still be unreasonable.

Don't buy these pre-assembled overpriced PC's, build your own (it's not nearly as hard as people think) or just walk into some local PC store and have them build you a PC from parts they sell, it'll be a lot cheaper and you'll get a better computer.

I agree with Eeti, just get one custom built. My dad owns a computer store and has had to fix tons of Alienwares in his time there. They're hard to open, hard to work on, require you to know what's wrong by some weird flashing light patterns, and it's not that much better than the dell it's based on (maybe a little better but not nearly enough to justify the premium).

Custom made you can get it just as fast (or faster), way more reliable, way cheaper, and you get to pick what you want (both looks and specs).

That seems ridiculous. That's just $9,000 for a computer that'll be out of date in a matter of a year or two.

Build your own. I built a decent one on a budget, though unfortunately I've never used it. It was a much better computer for the money than I would have got if I purchased it factory built.

Thanks for the input, everyone!

After reading what everyone had to say, I WILL NOT buy it. I will start looking at a PC to build.
