I'm pretty sure your brother got a lemon. RX-8s were notorious for engine problems because the seals would fail and spew most of the oil all over the place, but this is the first I've heard of problems with the manual transmission. I have a feeling one or more of the shift collars might have failed if he couldn't get it in a certain gear or if he was having issues with the shifter popping out of gear.

Yes manuals are a lot easier to shift once you've gone through the gears a few times and warmed up the fluids in the car. In my A6 the shifter is pretty stiff for the first couple of shifts, especially in the winter, but once the engine and transmission are both warmed up, it's easy to drive, and I can shift it a LOT more smoothly than my mom's Passat or my dad's Allroad shift (both automatics).

Oh he did get a lemon. That car was an absolute piece of sh*t. I was just using it as an example of when manual transmissions can still go very wrong.

Sometimes those transmissions can even be fussy after being warmed up, though I've really only experienced this in the 348. It's not the whole set of gears, it's just the one. It could just be because it's not in the best shape, but I do remember the shift into second gear being a common issue with the 348s after starting them up. Shifting smoothly is mainly just a skill thing. Plus older automatics are not nearly as refined.

I don't, though I'm curious as to why you're asking lol.

Well, i really want one but now i'm afraid i might not be very good at driving it.

Probably fairly expensive to restore anyways i guess though.

They're expensive to buy, and any one that isn't very expensive will require a decent amount of work to get going again. Besides, I thought you were getting a Roush and Exige?

I honestly have no idea what to get.

I wanted the Exige but after talking to lots of exige owners i found out i can't drive it in the snow or over any bumps without destroying the front clam. Also really liked that Mustang till i found out how much it would depreciate. Same as the Rolls Royce and it's repair costs, Isetta and it's speed issues, Messerschmitt and it's possibility of rolling over, Viper and it's tires/gas prices, Spyker and it's up front prices, Ariel Atom and it's windshield/roof issues (or lack of issues really), and Cygnet and it's importation issues.

I just honestly can't pick a car and it's making me annoyed with cars in general really.

Either have to continue thinking of an exotic i can buy for fairly cheap and won't see anywhere else in the area or will wait for my parents to buy another new car and hopefully give me the Chrysler 300.

That's one of the others I really want. DB7 or V8 Vantage.

Does anyone on here know if cropping photos on your camera is as good as cropping on a computer?

I'd go for the 300 or more boring car. Then you can save up money and then get a better more fun exotic later.

If you really want a Cygnet, just put a bodykit on an iQ lol.

I looked up "scottsdale" on the location search bar, then I went to highest rated and then "all time". My picture was 5th on the list even though it has more likes than 4th or 3rd. Does anyone know why that is?

I think it's a combination of likes, favorites, and views. Not sure on that though...
