So, i'm looking at getting an ipad mini but i dont know wether to save for another couple of weeks and get an ipad with retina or ipad 2.

I know the mini and ipad with retina are basically the same so is that enough reason to get a mini?

Screen size also isnt to much of a factor! And i'm not considering an ipad air either.

This one applies to me well. I have the Ipad 2 and my brother has the Mini. I like mine a lot more because i can see the screen better.

And btw, when apple says the Mini is shatter proof, they lie. My brother completely shattered his screen in about 5 weeks. The pieces didn't fall out but it's a lot harder (and more expensive) to repair the screen on the mini.

But i will say his ipad is much smaller, lighter, and has a better camera than my 2. I like heavy things more though anyways and my ipad still fits in some of my pockets.

The older iPad's have a 9,7" 1024×768 screen with 132 pixels per inch, and the newer 'Retina' ones have same sized screens but it's a 2048×1536 panel with 264ppi, so it's a lot sharper.

And with the Mini's its 7,9" screens with the same resolutions so 163ppi in the older one and 326ppi in the newer one.

At about 300ppi it becomes impossible for human eye to distinguish pixels from another.

Oh, so my iphone 4S must have the retina screen. That's pretty cool but i honestly dont think i've ever taken the time to notice the pixels on my ipad. They're pretty invisible from a normal distance.

We went to them and they said they dont cover screens on the minis because they're diamond cut and fused in.

Maybe we just went to a bad apple store (it's the only one around me though).
But they definately told us they cant replace the ipad or give a new screen.
