Morgan Roadster
So I decided to post this same Morgan Roadster I posted on here on Autogespot. I used 7 high-quality photos of the car. Woke up this morning with an email stating it had been deleted. This is what it stated:
"Reason : Not accepted

We do not accept every car which is uploaded. If your spot has been deleted as 'not accepted', it means that the type of car you uploaded is not accepted on Autogespot. Example given, a Nissan 350Z and BMW M3 E46.

Autogespot"

Are they trying to say a Morgan and a 350Z are the same now?

It's too old. There are many of them in Britain and other places where the car is native to. I wish they would allow some older cars like the older Rolls-Royces and Bentleys.

Well you see they may look old but the V6 Roadster only began production in 2006 and is still being produced. I would think that considering the location and the fact I had quality photos of the car would make it good enough to keep up there but oh well :/

Autogespot has posted a list of rules for new spotters to clarify some of the rules that seem stupid. What they've done is show that they are the pickiest of all picky in the car spotting world. Some of the rules:

-"If you, for instance, uploaded a Porsche 996 Carrera 4S your spot will not be accepted. If you uploaded (or attempted to upload) an older model of a car we don’t accept anymore your spot will be removed/refused under the tag ‘old model’."

Meaning they want this nice, brand new one and not this older, kinda "meh" one.

-"If you have already uploaded this car, you may not upload it again. Every unique car can only be spotted once per spotter."

What they leave out is that you can delete your old spot if you get better pictures.

-"Pictures taken on or around a racetrack will not be accepted. This includes the track parking lot and access roads to the track. For large events we also do not accept spots of cars driving towards the event, even when these cars are on public roads. There is an exception for the spots around the Nürburgring."

Of course there is. But you can't spot any Porsches, Lotuses, Mitsubishis, or Ford Focus RSs there, pretty much leaving this rule obsolete.

-"When you spot a Carrera model (see list below) you must have at least four pictures of the car standing still. If the car drives around there must be at least two photos, however we prefer more pics."

The same goes for Bentley Continentals.

-"If your spot has been removed under tag ‘license plate’ you did not fill in a license plate while the car has one. You can re-upload your spot with the correct license plate info."

What about blurring the plate for privacy? Oh wait, that's not allowed either. If you even try to upload spots with blurred plates, it's taken down for breaking privacy rules.

Part 2:

-"If you’ve uploaded a BMW M5 but it turned out to be a 530d, a Carrera 4S while it is a Carrera 2 your spot will be deleted under tag ‘fake’. The same rule applies to replica and/or kit-cars. AC Cobra, Ford GT40 and Porsche 550 Speedster replicas are exempt from this rule."

Again. Of course they are.

For this one, I've highlighted a particular part of the rule in parentheses:

-"Because large cities usually attract a higher density of supercars we expect you to take good photos. Every day we get hundreds of spots and we don’t want to disadvantage those who put a lot of work into taking and processing the photos. (We also strongly discourage ‘camping’ on one busy street and uploading many monotonous photos. This also goes for highway spots. If you systematically upload the exact same type of photos (a car driving by on the highway, front, rear and profile) then we may remove your spot under the ‘quality’ tag)."

That's literally what car spotting is! Half the time you sit somewhere and hope something nice drives by.

I'm literally dumbfounded by all of these rules, especially the "no camping" rule. I'm very glad I don't use Autogespot anymore.

I literally laughed out loud when I read this one. The essence of spotting is hanging around in one area to make sure you don't miss a single car that passes by/through/around that point of interest. Maybe I'll move around a couple city blocks, but otherwise I'll stay put if there is a particular hotspot.

Or also 'camping' on one busy area/parking lot. Example: On Plaza Senayan parking lot during Saturday/Sunday morning.

Because someone asked me about the 'spotters' that he think about when I got these spots in Plaza Senayan:

Interestingly, AG used to allow spots with no rear pictures in the past. Just check this out:

It depends what position it is in. There, you can't really get rear shots as it is so closely backed up against the wall. Somehow, AG members seem to understand that.

They used to understand that. But now, they will no longer tolerate "no rear shots" and stuff. So if you failed to get any clear front or rear pictures of any car, they will straight delete your spot. They don't care even if the spot is a very rare car, anything unique, etc.

Proof: I once uploaded this 458 (without rear): http://www.exoticspotter.com/ferrari-458-italia-jakarta-indonesia-243539 to Autogespot. 2 days later my spot got deleted despite it was in great quality due to "no rear".

I find AG a very good site other than those very annoying flaws though because you can keep track of what you've spotted and see if what you spotted has been spotted before, etc. I just deal with the flaws and accept them as I like other parts of the website a lot.

Took them over a week to delete my spot of a BMW M4 (which they mis-relabeled as a convertible) due to quality because 1 shot was a tiny bit out of focus.

Just got a message this morning from the Autogespot crew that I might face a permanent ban because most of my spots have been reported for being illegal recently.

They told me that most of my spots (including precious ones like the CCX, Veyron, Novitec Torado Aventador, the orange stock 720S, LP640) were reported by a number of group of people either as an event, motor show, dealer, repair shop, blah blah blah. As there were a lot of them that were reported (more than 50 spots), hence the crew said I might get a permanent ban once I got banned.

The problem is that many of the Autogespot crew members would instantly believe when you report spots that were illegal without checking the truth. This is, until I message them the actual thing that happened in the spot.

Just to make sure, try check yourself if they were illegal of any sort. These were all the spots that had been reported:
