Earthquakes are starting to become quite common in north Texas so there are always stories on the news about relatively small ones happening in the surrounding areas of DFW reportedly because of natural gas drilling. I've only felt one and I don't mind feeling another one as long as it doesn't do any damage.

I've been in quite a few in my life (a big one in NY 2 years ago on Black Friday and many when i lived in Washington State). I think they're pretty fun.

Living in California, I go through like 1 or 2 earthquakes a year at least. Nothing very big though. The worst damage was like a cup falling over. One of the most memorable ones to me was one time when we were in a restaurant and a big earthquake started. Everyone went quiet and the windows started shaking and it looked like they were all about to shatter, but then it stopped and everybody started clapping.

But yeah, we have earthquake drills at my school and stuff, but I've never experienced a really devastating one.

Sorry to hear about that one in New Zealand. I hope everyone is ok.

I've slept through the only ones I have experienced. Granted, with this being Ohio, they weren't very powerful.

I was on vacation in San Diego once when there was an earthquake. It was only a 5.4 but we were on the 24th story so it was pretty noticeable. Being from the south east it was kind of a wtf was that moment.
