So I'm going to get a camera soon, I'm looking at the Canon EOS Rebel T3I, it's 500 bucks so I think it might be too much and I won't be able to get it, any suggestions for a camera less than that, will it be any good, any problems with it etc. also if you have a really good camera for around that price let me know. Thanks

I'm saving up for a Nikon D3300. Right now I have a Sony TX-30 and I love it. I think it's time to upgrade to a DSLR though.

Thanks Mazda I'll look through them and try to find the best one. Huracan, yeah I definitely want a dslr so I can edit the effects on the pictures (shutter speed, contrast, etc)

I might get the fujifilm either the fine pix s6800 or s9200 or the only difference really is the zoom for the second one and it is $100 more so I am leaning to the other one. And it will be my first camera.

I know some of you guys are concerned about price but consider the investment in at least an entry-level DSLR. The sooner you get familiar with the workings of quality cameras, the better you'll become as photographers. I went from cell phone to DSLR, and while it was a bit overwhelming to start, it forces you to acclimate yourself with it. If you're just a hobbyist then it may not be what you're looking at, but I was the same way 2+ years ago and now this summer I'll be doing car photography as a job.

I started with a D3100 kit, which now is very much obsolete, but it's still a serviceable starter and now goes for a good price, as do its former competitor choices.

Today I bought a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W800 for $80 it shoots really high quality (20mp!) photos! And 720p videos. It's pretty good for the price, it's a point and shoot
