I have a canon T3 and it comes with the standard 58-something lense and i bought a 75-300mm lense and it is way too much zooming and stuff for me and i can return it. What is the lense people use the most for everyday shots? I heard one that is 150-something maybe that one. I need to camera experts here! thanks for the help:)

For car spotting and just everyday use, get the 18-135mm

Is it called the EF-S 18-135mm lens? And ouch, $314.00? That's expensive.

That's probably it. Well, the lens I want to get is $700. I want some other ones as well but they're like $1,500 haha.

I wish I could afford something like that, but I have no source of income.

Well I usually carry 17-70 and 70-300 lenses with me, they cover the whole range I need.

Oh yeah forgot the actual point of the thread, so you are not satisfied with long end of the 18-55mm? Needs more zoom? You didnt like the 75-300mm because it doesnt have the wide end, only telephoto? And you want it cheap? You should look into the Tamron 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3, its cheap, it has the wide angle, it has the telephoto, yes there is some compromises, but overall for that price its relatively really good.

I don't need the 75-300 mm cause I never need to zoom that much like for that lense and the 18-55 my canon came with doesn't zoom enough. Would the 15-150 be a good choice or another one not too pricey

The 18-200 is heavier and a bit bigger and you really wont need the extra 65mm for spotting so just go for the 18-135 for everyday use.
