Lamborghini Gallardo’s Life Extended

Sep 27, 2012

Written by Justin P. (r8lover)

We may not be seeing the Gallardo's replacement as soon as we had hoped. This has become more apparent now than

ever since Lamborghini went ahead and released a face-lifted Gallardo for the Paris Motor Show. For those of you expecting a faster, more powerful Gallardo, you're going to be disappointed, because this facelift is for the exterior only.

The LP560-4 Coupe and Convertible variants receive the biggest change to their skin, shedding the old and revealing a new, more aggressive body kit. It is just the front and rear fascias that receive the major changes, while the side vent gets a slight indent.

Honestly, I think the updates on the LP560 look terrible, and from the look on its face, the car seems to agree with me. I mean, just look at that frown!

The LP570 doesn't get any exterior update, well that is if you exclude the new Edizione Tecnica option that can be chosen. This provides a new rear wing, as well as the only performance upgrade, which is the addition of Carbon brakes. With this package, you also get special two tone paint, with three separate options; Nero Nemesis (matte black) body with Arancio Argos (orange) accents, Bianco Canopus (matte white) body with Arancio Argos accents, and Arancio Argos body with Nero Nemesis accents.

So, do you love or loath the new updates? Tell us below.

Nice write-up! I agree that the front facia doesn't look too good with the 'stock bumpers', but the LP-570 Tecnica pictured at the bottom does look good. There aren't too many new cars that pull off the accents in a different colour than the rest of the car, but the red on black does look nice.

The LP-560-4, especially the backside, imho looks quite clustered and boring now, losing some of the aggressive design in the current lineup.

But as a face-lift, this isn't really much. Would think they could play a bit more with the design, seeing how popular this car is :)

And so the wait for a replacement begins...
