Hey guys. This is my first post here. Glad I found this forum that shares the same hobby as me!

I like to spot exotics and upload them to my flickr to show my photography/ post editing skills, as well as my passion for spotting exotics.

In the future I would like to make a photography portfolio where i have a section on cars that I've spotted as well as shoots that I've done. (Both Different Sections on the portfolio) Am I breaking any laws by uploading the spots online? I do not intend to make money whatsoever from the spottings, purely just to share to viewers the exotics i've seen in my area. I live in Australia if anyone cares haha.

Appreciate any responses in advance!

Thanks!

Unless it's a law to blur the plates in Australia or the owner tells you not to then you should be good.

I'm confused about what you are asking.

If I will get into any legal issues by photographing exotics on the street and uploading them to a personal blog/photography portfolio in a section that mentions that these are cars that I've spotted, with no intention of making money from it, just a personal collection.

thats true, however this is a community forum where people share the images, whereas in my case its a personal portfolio. just wanted to check to be safe before I got into a legal mess

I sometimes blur the plates just to be safe, so you can do that if you are concerned about getting in trouble with owners. I don't think any of us have ever gotten in trouble for our pictures though. (My friend and I did get escorted out of Trump Tower's parking once however XD)

Not that I'm aware of. I always cover the license plate for extra security, but I don't think it's a law.

On a side note, I found a site a few months back called "CarPaps.com" There aren't many users on there, and there is a section both for spottings and photoshoots.

Welcome to the site! I am Australian as well, to answer your question you don't have to blur plates. Where are you in Australia, and what are your best spotting places?
