Looking a buying a prepaid sim when I get to the states in October, who is a good provider?

I'm looking for something with a decent amount of data 1.5gb+ and maybe half hour talk time with a couple hundred texts im there for 3 weeks and doing photos so lots of data is a key for uploading my photos to a site text and talk time is a must to communicate with my family whom I'm I staying with.

99% of Starbuck's have free wifi, and there is a Starbuck's on every street-corner, so just use their wifi! Where in the U.S. Are you going?

I like AT&T although, TMobile is probably your best bet

Verizon has the best coverage but you pay that monthly (its also the most expensive monthly service.) Prepaid though just go to Walmart and you can get a prepaid phone.

I'm pretty sure T-Mobile doesn't have contracts, so if you're only gonna be here for a little while, I'd definitely have to go with them.

And he said he'd like to use it in Canada as well; T-Mobile also has that thing where it can be used in all of North America, right?

I've read that most carriers would have poor reception when you get into the canyons of Zion National Park, including T-Mobile, but you won't find many carriers that are exceptional in a canyon. :P I see T-Moblie as a good carrier, and they do have plans for coverage in all of North America.
