when uploading photos add a options to add the number plate

people will be able to search for the plate to see if anyone else has spotted it

and owners could search to see if there car is on here, and comment on our spots

spotters like it when owners see their photos

maybe owners can claim the plate and get updates when someone post a photo under that plate

something like this would be awesome

Unfortunately, there are so many spotters that think that deleting plates is a good thing because of the privacy of owners and all that...Which is total nonsense. It is a good idea indeed, however it's exactly what Autogespot does though...and it may seem like copying in that sense. Definitely a good idea though, i'd like it to happen!

Exactly, We don't need to do a double rule for this site then, which would be much better. AG doesn't have such a strict double rule, however it does enforce it.

IMO you are wrong: In Italy is illegal to post picture of a car with plates, and is not fair to post a plate if the owner don't know you'll post his car on internet.

3rd of all... yolo

Then why do they have to blur license plates on Google Maps and TV Shows?

That is just for a sense of privacy and because people are morons and companies do not want to get sued by those morons. It's not illegal at all.

I've seen many websites of nice cars spotted in Italy, where the license plates are still shown. I think it's more of a problem with privacy of owners. In most countries in Europe, there isn't a single way that the public can find out where one owner lives, just from his number plate, only the Police (And in the UK, the DVLA too), know where one lives from the license plate database. I know it isn't illegal at all here in the UK, however taking photos of just license plates is quite suspicious, and some officers would take action.
