So last weekend I was on my way to cars and coffee in Great Falls, VA and at 5:30 am I got a speeding ticket. I guess it was my fault because I passed a state trooper haha. I was going 65 in a 55, but I thought the speed limit was 60. But then on my way back less than 6 hours later I got another. This one was bull cr*p. People on the other side of the highway were flashing their lights telling me that there was a speed trap ahead so I slowed down to 60 (55 was the speed limit). Then right when we are about to pass the speed trap a white truck came flying past me and I get pulled over for doing "70". It was ridiculously stupid. The cop was being a dick acting like I was putting peoples life at danger. I just payed both the tickets and they weren't cheap. But anyway has anyone on here gotten speeding tickets before? And ever two in one day?

Lol the interstate speed limit here is like 60 or 65 but whenever I drive on it I do 90 or 95 and so does everyone else (when there isn't any traffic of course). I don't even pass people at that speed sometimes. I honestly don't know how I've never gotten a ticket before in my life. I NEVER look at the speed limit signs and usually just eyeball how fast I should be going. I suggest investing in a radar detector. I use a Valentine 1 myself. It helps but there's just nothing you can do to protect yourself against a dick cop unless you can get your hands on a PBA card. Even then, some cops ignore those but at least they can get sh*t for it if they do.

I was thinking about buying one actually, because I drive to VA almost every weekend (2 or 2.5 hour drive) so it would be used for sure. I was pulled over on a highway, not an interstate, that's probably why. I love driving on I-495 North fast because of the twist and turns, I'll probably do about 90 on there. If I'm driving with someone else in the car I usually take it slower on road trips though. How much should I expect to pay for a radar? I have never really looked into it.

I got a speeding ticket last month for going 86 in a 65. It was right after my final exam for the year too and I was on a slope when he clocked me. I freaking hate state troopers since all they do is sit their ass down in their squad cars and ruin somebody's day when there are actual crimes being committed that they could prevent.

I don't know how much you want to spend on a radar detector but the valentine one provides a pretty good bang for your buck. It's simple, easy to install, very easy to use, and because they didn't go crazy and add a million features, it's very good at what it does. It cost me and will cost you $400 on valentine1.com.

i have been caught driving 190km/h in a 60 zone ( i was late for something that my dad needed me to do) and a i got put in hand cuffs and put in back of police car for this, while i was in the back and about to leave where they pulled me over my dad phoned me and confirmed it was his fault that i was speeding cause i had to get somewhere urgently for him) when i told the policemen this he thought i was lying. so my dad phoned at right time, confirmed story. i was then let out the police car and given a big warning. (this happened on a friday so i would have been locked up for the whole weekend)

i have my number plates on with Velcro, so when i feel like speeding i just pull them off.

we also dont have many speed traps with police men sitting with camaras on side of road, most are all fixed and we i know where they all are, of where the police men do sometimes hide with cameras

I've gone past a police van at 115 before and they didn't even try to do anything I shat myself though

Luckily the police on the isle of man are nice and don't give a f*ck about speeding, given that half the island is a racecourse
