The ghibli is no where near as impressive as the quattro. if you looking in the 100k price range I recommend a Quattroporte or a M5
Ignore the Quattroporte V6. The only thing it has over the Ghibli is that it is a little better built. It still doesn't feel special. The Model S is electric, so I don't think it's as good as most cars, especially the base. Just get a normal petrol sedan that isn't a Maserati like an Audi, Mercedes, or well specced BMW.
It's not me buying it though, it's my parents and i think they like it because it's electric. For an electric car would you recommend anything other than the Model S?

Gasoline. Seriously, it sounds like you guys will end up with the 160 mile version, which is not that great of a range. Just get a gasoline car unless you're getting the top of the line Model S.

How wouldn't it work? And yeah, it's expensive but it'd be cheaper if we trade in the Escalade for it. Probably like $200,000 more after that.

MSRP will be about 200k. But I doubt those will be very reliable.

It's not a GranTurismo engine note. They likely either put a V8 Quattroporte's engine note over it or just put the microphone right outside the tailpipe (I don't remember it sounding like that from the cabin).

Why wouldn't it be reliable? It's built by Volkswagen and I can't imagine it'll be that different from some of the other VAG SUVs.

True, but high end cars like that tend to always have some reliability issues and be expensive to fix. Also I'm assuming he'd pick up the first year model which always has a few kinks they have to work out with the fancy technology that will probably be packed in a car of that caliber.
Edit: I'm talking in comparison to the Escalade.

I can't imagine it'll be that bad. Besides, if it was tested thoroughly, I can't imagine there being too many kinks in the car either. Isn't the SUV not even coming out until 2016 or 2018 anyway?
