What do you all think about sports? Like/dislike, favorite sports? Play on any teams? Cool/funny stories?

I love sports. My favorite sport is baseball, and tennis and bowling are tied for second. I also like dodgeball and handball, although some may not really consider them sports. The one game I absolutely do not like is soccer.

For two years when I was eight and nine years old I played on a local little league baseball team. My first season we went 16-1, possibly 17-0 but there was some debate about who won the one game. We used a machine for pitching for the first five innings, but then people got to pitch for the last two. I pitched for one inning in three different games in my second season. One time I gave up one hit, and one I struck out three in a row. Unfortunately I was a little wild the other time. I allowed I think three to get on base. I even hit one kid that I didn't especially like in the back and he cried... (I promise, it was an accident :D) I was also a pretty good batter. I had a few doubles and I was able to switch hit. Whenever I was playing an infield position, they would move me to the outfield when the good hitters came up. I could seriously catch anything! I ended up quitting after those two seasons because I had a fear of getting hit by pitches. Now I'm rather disappointed I made that decision.

My favorite team is the Detroit Tigers. Up until a few years ago we had a single A farm team for them in my town. I have over twenty broken bats that the players gave me, including one from Lonnie Chisenhall who is currently on the Cleveland Indians. I have a home run ball from Jordany Valdespin who is a pinch hitter for the NY Mets, and I have an autographed hat from Casper Wells who is on the Chicago White Sox. Those were all from when they were in single A.

If anyone has bothered to read this far, I'm done with my stories haha!

So, what does everyone else like?

I play tennis for my school. We've always been top 10 in the state but we have the 1st, 3rd, and 4th in our conference so our record doesn't show it usually. I also play basketball and football allot but never on a team, I'm down to play a pickup game of pretty much any sport though. As far as watching them goes, soccer is definitely the best.

I read it all lol! ;)

I play baseball and have since I was five. I play for my high school team and I primarily pitch. I throw a 2-seam fastball, slider, change-up and a knuckleball for fun lol. I got clocked this summer at 80mph and am hoping to be at 83-85 by the start of next season. I have worked with 2 major league pitchers and 3 minor leaguers. I threw my best game of a no-hitter in te 2012 season while in Myrtle Beach for a tournament.

I ran cross-country as training for baseball in 7th, 8th and my freshman year but I am quitting that this year.

My favorite sport is car-spotting :D

I used to baseball, but I quit because

. I was wearing all black
. I was wearing a cup and under-armor
. It was 90 degrees most days
. I always played right-field

Even though baseball and football are very popular in Texas I play neither :). I just play basketball and track. It's just too hot here for both of those sports IMO. My family is friends with the family of Jordan speith who won a PGA tournament at the age of 19 which has only been done once before. I love the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, and Pittsburgh Steelers. I also don't like the Dallas Cowboys which is hard to deal with in Dallas lol. I also love Ohio State in sports too.

i find sports to be very boring

here in the uk.. its nothing like american where you have alot of different sports

in the uk we have football thats what takes up all the tv

we do have rugby, darts, snooker and other sports but they hardly get any attention

in the uk its all about f**king football

football is cr*p, the players are all soft ass's

its a sport women should enjoy , yet most men go crazy watching other men chase balls in shorts while they try to look pretty while they do it, and falling over at the slightest touch

People in Europe need to start watching manly sports not this cr*p

maybe if i was american i would be more into sports as you guys have alot more different kinds of sports that are on tv and are big

Lmao

I love football. I wish I had been put into a little league football team when I was a kid tbh but instead I was forced into basketball (the ONLY sport at my elementary school). I find basketball really boring nowadays. Anyway, I'm a colts fan who also roots for the broncos (love you peyton).

What are these "sports" you speak of? Are you saying there is a life outside of the internet?

In all seriousness though, I did actually used to play all kinds of sports like tennis, soccer, track, and baseball for a short time. Then I realized I was awful at all of them, and now the only thing that I do that can be qualified as a sport is swimming. By swimming, I mean sitting on a pool float in the sun.
