It is totaled beyond repair. The hinge and clamshell repair will cost $800.00+ which is over the original cost of my laptop. I am considering getting a brand new one with Windows 8 on it. All my stuff is backed up on an external hard-drive, but I want to find out how Windows 8 is for you before I make any decisions. Do you like Windows 8, or do you like Windows 7 better?
I currently have 8 on my laptop, and honestly I think that 7 was a bit more computer friendly. 8 looks a bit more dynamic and would be nice on a touch screen, but it really isn't as well suited for computer as 7. The little tiles can be nice on occasion (for instance when trying to find a game I want to play), but that's about it.
u can always switch from the "widget" style of windows 8 to make it look like normal windows desktop, i personally dont dig it but it slowly going to become the standard for everyone. my windows 7 ultimate works perfect for now thought
I have win 8 and it is awesome. The first time is a little bit difficult to use but then... You can install a software like CS6 in 2-3 minutes. The start up is very very fast. And all the OS is very fast it hasn't got video bugs like seven.
They cannot fix my laptop. I bought a brand new Asus Touch Screen laptop with Windows 8. I am picking it up tomorrow because they need to get all of my data onto my new laptop from my external hard drive (don't worry, all my photos and data are safe)
