Finally got my EF50mm f/1.8 earlier this month. Still don't have the polarizer for it but it's not like it matters, there's not much spotting/photography to be had at this time of year for me but I will be getting one soon. Would anybody recommend the EF-S 18-135mm STM as a replacement to my stock kit lens (18-55mm)? Does it produce better images overall?

Anyways a few test photos I took this past Saturday with the EF50:

Not gonna lie I'm impressed. I wasn't even trying to take good shots, was just trying to see what it could do. :D

Hi! Glad you're happy with your 50mm lens. That lens is definitely good "bang for your buck". Also i've personally gone from the 18-55 to 18-135 awhile back and it's been a good experience, I wouldn't go back. I've had no problems with it. One of the big things for me is the zoom range, because of the zoom range you can shoot near and far without having to change lenses. It's useful while spotting, but it also gives from freedom for getting cool compositions/angles that you wouldnt be able to get with the 18-55 because of it's lack of zoom.

Recently updated my lens from a 28-135mm to a 24-105mm and am very very happy with it. Havent had many opportunities to use it with cars yet, so heres some photos from a protest on my college campus. I though the pics really showed off the DOF well. Cant wait to use it at the auto show this weekend and car week later this year.

Nothing special, just a shot I took to adjust the polarizer before taking pictures of a new TTS:

Definitely considering getting into other photography genres. Cars will always be fun but cityscape and landscape sounds interesting.

pretty happy with how this turned out. Looks very post apocalyptic.
