If you want something different, you might look into a Pentax K-50 or K-3. I'm interested in buying one myself, and I've read good things about both.

yeah I actually was looking at the K50 but I got more interested in others.

It has a lot of nice features that you won't find on a similarly priced camera from other brands... like weather sealing, and dual control dials.

The 7200 is in my opinion a better choice but the 7000 isn't too shabby. Enjoy it

the 7200 is just a bit out of my price range so that's why I went for the 7000.

I recently made a jump from a point-and-shoot Canon SX600 to a Canon SL1 100D. Any lens recommendations?

Definitely a 50mm f/1.8 or f/1.4 (1.4 is older but has a slightly better aperture, so that really depends on new vs old and which you'd rather). Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 and the 18-135mm lens

Thanks, I looked at photos with the EF50mm f/1.8 and I'll probably be ordering that tomorrow or Saturday. The S18-135mm will definitely be next.

I love my 50mm! I haven't been able to upload any shots from it but they'll be coming soon.
