Most of my photos on here are taken with an Iphone 4S and my dad wants to get me a camera for my graduation present. I want a camera that has really clear photos and good for panning. I like the DSLR cameras but have no idea how to use them properly because they seem really complicated with all of their functions. What's an easy camera to use that might be a DSLR? I'm looking at $450 or less. Their's a Canon EOS Rebel T3 at best buy for 430 and don't know if you'd recommend that for a beginner or how good it is. Some others i've seen are the Nikon coolpix L820 for $200 bucks or Nikon Coolpix P520 for 400 bucks. I just want a really good camera that shoots clear shots and is a step up from the smaller canon like cameras that are flat if you know what I mean, not sure what those kind are called. So I hope anyone can give me some advice on what to look at and get. Thanks Everyone!

If you have the chance to get the EOS T3/1100D, then...get it!

I own an 1100D, and i had never had a DSLR before. You definitely get used to them once you start using them. The 1100D has been made in a way to be less complicated to most DSLR's, and has some preset modes which benefits for beginners. It's good for panning too.

DSLR's can be quite bulky, but i definitely recommend them if you want clearer images. The standard Lens does the job well, so you could stick to that, or upgrade to other forms of lenses. If you do get a DSLR like the T3, then get a 58mm Polarising filter for the lens too, it transform's images greatly (Any spotter using a pol filter on a DSLR will agree with me hopefully)..

Hope this helps :)

If you want to shoot anything that moves fast (exotics usually) it's quite (very) useful to have a DSLR.

Also knowing how to edit your pictures is a very important aspect.

the T3 is honestly not a good camera at all. Its dated and slow, you'll have limitations with it.

Not good at all? Well compared to any cameraphone it's the best f**king camera in the world. The body really doesn't matter that much. A Good photo is made of = 10% camera, 40% lens, and 50% photographer.

well, you can't really compare an SLR with a camera phone.

I have a Nikon D3200. It's a DSLR and it's amazing. I love it. If you don't want a Nikon get a T3
