So recently I received my mom's old Nikon D40. Works great, pictures are awesome.

But I really like doing close-up shots, and the lens I currently use, a Sigma 18-200mm, but it doesn't take close-ups very well.

Could someone recommend me any lenses that would work for close-ups?

Thanks

I dont know much about nikons, but my advice is go into one of your local electronic/ camera shops and ask for a macro lens. my opinion is get a 40mm Nikkor F2.8 or a tokina 35mm f2.8, the Tokina is the cheaper option

Today I finally purchased the Nikon AF-S Micro NIKKOR 40mm lens... And it works great! Thanks for the suggestion Bejon!

And what's great is that I got it just in time for a C&C tomorrow morning!

Stinks that I didn't see this forum until now, I would've definitely recommended either a f/1.4 or f/1.8 around 24mm because those have very very short focal length and awesome DoF.
