Compact Flash is not obsolete. It is better than SD in some aspects, like speed. Newest Canon 1D X still uses CF, because they're a lot faster than even the fastest SD cards. They are expensive though.

Yeah, and I can't get the photos off the camera. Only 512mb too!

Why? Your computer doesnt have a CF reader? Or no cable?

Cable doesn't work, and no cf reader. It's a Dell Vostro 3560. Windows 8.
I'm gonna buy a reader.
