It should. The GT500's (especially the 67's & 68's) are powerful, rare, expensive, look amazing, etc... Very much the definition of exotic. But what's done is done. I'm guessing that people would have to re-upload all of their Shelby GT500 shots, thereby flooding the site.

ES.com really dropped the ball on this one.

Unfortunately A_A_L is right, they probably deleted everything from the server.

Why are you all so upset? I'm sure the admins will gladly allow an older GT500 to be uploaded. I see the new ones often, and my city isn't really that great for spotting.

I live in Westchester County, and go spotting in Fairfield County. Those are one of the two most wealthiest counties in the entire United States, and rarely see a Shelby GT500. In fact, I've seen more Ferraris than new GT500s to put it into perspective

But the new ones are still exotic. I see 911s all the time but they're still on this site, the problem I have with it is that they removed the GT500 yet there are still Lotus and Z06 on this site. I'm also upset they totally removed the Panamera, but this topic isn't about that.

The Z06 at least costs $20,000 more and still is a bit rarer than a GT500, and the Lotuses have a huge rarity and performance factor going for them.

I see new GT500s pretty much daily here. In the time since the GT500 came out, I've seen many, many more than Ferraris. It is different in each city for spotting. Also, just for the record, there have been over 42,000 GT500s produced since the new one came out in 2007.

The Z06 is way more common than the GT500, I've already seen 4 this year. The GT500 is exotic. Its a flashy, high end, expensive, high performance, rare, and unique car.

As far as performance stats:
Ford GT500 0-60 mph 3.6 Quarter Mile 11.5
Corvette Z06 0-60 mph 3.6 Quarter mile 11.6
An Elise SC 0-60 mph 4.4 Quarter mile 13.3

Tell me how it handles though. Also, look at the older GT500s too, and not simply the new one. And as I said, the Lotus can handle, and is rare. The GT500 has had over 40,000 copies produced.

Then we can go back to the Corvette, its handels are far from good, same with the Viper. The 911 sells like crazy, as does the Corvette, and, while the Lotus is more rare than the GT500 that shouldn't protect it. If 45,000 people wanted a Lotus then they'd be happy to sell them. We might as well allow Cayman S and Boxster S if we are going to allow Elise. Similar price, performance, design. The only difference is the sale numbers but you can't just use those to determine what is and isn't exotic.

Yes, if 45,000 people wanted a lotus today they would most definitely be happy to sell them.. as well as put those 45,000 people on a waiting list for 10-15 years.

Again though, that is because Lotus isn't a wildly popular car. Ford is obviously a wildly successful company that can pump out as many cars as they want, why limit something that is so successful? That'd be like Apple only selling 1,000 iPad mimi. The reason Lotus would put them on a waiting list isn't because they want to keep the car exclusive its because they wouldn't have the manpower to build that many of them. I don't think we should use production numbers to determine what is and isn't exotic. If we do that its punishing the car for being good, and it also dosen't make sense considering the 911, for example, is a VERY popular car.

How can you say that about the Corvette? Have you driven one?

If the Z06 category must be removed to end this madness, so be it.
