This may sound like a stupid question, but I am saying this because the Nissan Skyline R-34 is not considered exotic in the normal world, but rather in the tuner category with all the supped up Hondas and Toyotas. I know they are very rare in America, but I want your opinion on this. I'm not saying they are or they aren't, I'm neutral about it.

In my opinion, it is one of the only JDM cars that i would class as truely exotic (That, and the NSX, Mitsuroka Orochi and other Supercars from Japan), and even then, it is on the edge of between exotic and non exotic. I would definitely upload an R34 if i saw one though, i've only ever seen two in recent years (Both at car shows including a V-Spec II)...

IMO it's in the same boat with the Honda NSX.

I say no, they are extremely common in Australia (you are very unlikely to see less than 2 in one day)and just because cars are rare in some parts of the world doesn't make them exotic. Otherwise I could just post HSV's all day because they are very rare in America.

That's a good point.
I see a few every time I'm spotting. I still takepicutres but I've never uploaded. I wouldn't call them common though, but also not uncommon.

True, but there is something else about the R34 that does make it widely regarded as exotic. I would wager that the same poll done for the HSV would not turn the same results. Also, remember, that argument that says just because a car is rare in some parts of the world doesn't make it exotic..it works both ways. Just because a car is common in some parts of the world doesn't make it unexotic.

These are very rare in the UK, I would see 30+ Aston's or Bentley's maybe even 10 Ferrari's and Lambo's for every GT-R. Is it exotic?....hmmmmm borderline, but why not when a M5 or plain Jane 911 is apparently exotic.
