My mother made an art out of piloting her BMW Z3 3.0 one hand on the gear shift, one on her phone and her knees doing the steering. Not to discount your argument, however, driving of every kind requires you to focus on the task at hand, driving, yet regardless, people will still find ways to and will do stupid things (texting, makeup, smacking around the kids in the backseat) whether they're driving a stick or an automatic. As they way, where this is a will there is a way. In the end, I wasn't discounting that a manual takes talent (it does) but that driving very powerful automatics also take a high level of talent and that I'd rather take the person who gives up a bit of his ultimate control to the car in the form of automatic shifting so he has one less thing occupying his attention span while piloting 600, 700 or more horsepower down the highway.[/quote]
How on earth does anybody do all of that in a tiny Z3?
