I'd say something American, Challenger, Camaro, Corvette something like that. They're loud and you can get a slightly used one under 30k, plus they're very fast and nice. Plus if they break there is probably a dealership in your town. I have a Mustang and love it, great first car.

I was looking at a Camaro SS but I need something that will beat my friend's brand new Dodge Charger SRT8 for under $30,000! I don't know if I can do it, haha.

I know these are hatchbacks and maybe not popular in America but how about:

VW Golf GTI
Ford Focus ST


Americans are so unlucky. You don't get half the amazing hot hatches us Europeans do :P
