Spotting has many different techniques...WHAT ARE YOURS?

I just have a few restaurants I check on Saturday nights. I also like walking around nice areas whenever possible. I try to bring my camera with me at all times so I can minimize misses.

I just go around about my usual business, and become excited if I happen to get a car. I never really go spotting.

In 20 days I will be living in Montreal, Canada, it is incredible how many exotic cars you can see in that city... When I am there I usualy go to the downtown and that is enough.

It's hard for me to know where to go. I do not go downtown a lot, so I don't know much about spotting down there. I know spotting down there is good because people on ES have posted Ferrari 458s, Ferrari Californias, Rolls Royce Phantoms, Maseratis, Bentleys, and I found a Lamborghini Aventador down there back in December.

Well, usually I may go spotting once a month or so. I don't usually get out of the car to take photos (especially on a road) unless it is at a parking lot or I am already out. I like going to parks nears busy streets and eating lunch there, with my eyes fixed n the road and camera ready. I also like visiting dealers but always watching the road for cars. Some of the dealers where I go are on the same street so i walk between them.

My dad doesn't like parking In Any areas where you would have to pay, so we either park in the dealers parking lot (nothing bad should happen, we go on a Sunday and the dealers are closed) or don't park at all. I also spot on the highway whenever I am there.

I have an entire route planned out. Leave the train station (Back Bay Station, for those in Boston), walk to one hotel (the Copley Hotel), then cross the street to another (the Westin, if there's anything). Then take a right to another street, where another hotel is (the Lenox), then take a left on a busy street that will have exotic cars prowling around (Boylston St.), then walk straight, to another hotel (the Mandarin Oriental). Then cross the street and take a right onto another street (Newbury St.), then head straight until I get to the beginning of Newbury. Take a right, left, so on, until I get to my final hotel (the Four Seasons) and then walk to another train station. If it's a good enough day, I'd take my chances to see if anything is hidden in a garage.

I do this every day after school... if it isn't terrible weather like now.

Whenever I have the time, I'd either go on bridges overlooking busy intersections or highways like the ones in Central (across the Apple Store), parking lots of high end malls (IFC), hotel parking lots and valet areas, and also to car dealerships and showrooms such as SPS.

Also, every time I go out to eat dinner, buy things, or whatever, I'd bring my camera along with me because who knows I might come across!

In Columbus, Ohio; I usually go to the two malls (Easton Town Center and Polaris Fashion Place) around here, high-class restaurants, wealthy neightborhoods, and occasionally office buildings.

In Hong Kong, stand on a footbridge over Gloucester, Harcourt, or Connaught Road in Wan Chai, Admiralty, or Causeway Bay for hours just shooting cars that drive by. I walk around CWB at night and I see cars parked. Also go spot at Pacific Place and IFC. Sometimes in Kowloon at TST and Hung Hom.
