I went to my local dealer about a week ago and found this in the showroom. It is the very first one in North America, and was having it's first public showing in North America that night. I managed to get into the event, and this picture is from that event.

I dont think so... Sill Ter-har maserati in denver had one three or so weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvzTrFGalAU

This is the 2014 Maserati Ghibli. That is a Quattroporte.

Oh Okay. I think they look the exact same though... How different are they?

Thats what I was thinking at first, but on the little info sticker, it did't say anything about a replica.

They have many more styling differences than you think once you see them side by side and when compared from the back. There is a massive size and price difference, and the Ghibli is only available with a V6.

Here they are side by side:

A lot of kit cars don't state the "kit car" or "replica" part. EX: K-1 Attack kit car
I've seen one like it minus the wing. They are called the Laser 917 kit cars, and are popular 917 kits.

The ghibli looks sportier but i dont see why they would make two 4 door saloons and try to sell them. I think its stupid. they are a sports car company not BMW or Mercedes

They want to increase their sales. Companies are allowed to have more than one four door car; they're simply expanding their market. The Ghibli is half the price of the Quattroporte, and I think I'm right in saying that it is about a foot shorter in size comparison. The Quattroporte is the size of a BMW 7 Series now, while the Ghibli is the size of a 5 Series. The Ghibli is meant to be a sportier, better handling car, while the Quattroporte is more for being a large luxury barge but it still handles well. Saying that they having two similar bodystyles is entirely irrelevant. That's like saying Ferrari is stupid to have the FF and the California, because they're both two door, four seaters (taking the convertible part out of the picture).

I see your point but and i agree now that i know more about the car. I dont know why people hate the FF. I think it really brought back the shooting brake. I dont like the california too much and i think it should have been a maserati instead of a ferrari.

I dislike the FF because it is four wheel drive (unnatural for a Ferrari), and the styling is rubbish. Yes, it did bring back the shooting brake, but they did an awful job of it. Maserati already has the GranCabrio, which isn't too different from a California.
