Fiat may not have huge presence in India, but it is making business by selling engines. Its ubiquitous and shares many many platforms through India. Developed in 2003 by FCA, 1.3L Multijet engine. Almost all of the Maruti Suzuki diesel cars in India have this engine. Recently Maruti has developed an in house 1.5 L Indigenous DDiS engine, now used in Ertiga and Ciaz. Maruti is planning to leave Fiat’s Multijet engine beside because of BS6 Norms being kicked in and want to cut costs.
