We have a 'Other' category for all those vehicles that might be interesting.
Use it, explain why your upload should be treated as exotic. And we will accept
if we agree.

But what was the point of deleting the Shelby category? -__________-

How about for people who are lucky to see GT500s and rarely see exotics like Ferraris, and Lamborghinis..

Can you please stop posting these pictures? They're rather annoying.

I'm glad that all of these categories were deleted. None of them were really exotic that all. The Elise and Quattroporte categories need to stay though, I have barely seen any Elises this year, and the Quattroporte is a great and genuinely exotic car.

The Panamera is just as exotic as the Quattroporte, and I haven't seen any GT500s yet this year (I've seen 2 Elise), they're FAR from common and much rarer than a Z06 or a 911. There isn't a point in taking down the section when the car is clearly exotic and no one has given a decent reason as to why the section were totally deleted.

There have been 100,000 Panameras produced already. Maserati hasn't made nearly that many Quattroportes. With no truly special attributes (other than Shelby's name) and production numbers running over 40,000, the GT500 is not clearly exotic.

You can't use production numbers alone to decide what is and isn't exotic, that is punishing the car for being favored. Maserati plans to sell 50k Quattroporte a year by 2015. If they achieve that goal will they somehow become non-exotic? The GT500's 0-60 in 3.6 is pretty special. Nowhere in the definition of exotic does it say rare.

I agree with the majority of your statement, however I think that rarity is a deciding factor in exoticness. This doesn't mean that it is the only way to tell if a car is exotic or not, it just means it helps out.

But WHY are we arguing if a quattroporte is exotic or not? Next thing you know we'll be arguing whether or not a Ghost or Phantom is exotic. Seriously guys?

Really now.....the things are looking....ES will be Bugatti, Pagani, and Konigsegg spotter! GT500, I kind of understand a little. Panamera, I get even though I wish it was turned into Panamera GTS/Turbo. Now there is talk of getting rid of Lotus and Quattroporte?! It's a M_A_S_E_R_A_T_I!!!!!

You people are taking this site FAR to seriously. If you don't want to see pictures of the Panamera or the GT500 then only look at the featured tab, I thought that is what it was for. I want to know why the GT500 isn't exotic but yet the Z06 and Lotus are, also why the Panamera (especially the higher end models) aren't exotic but yet a Fisker Karma or a Quattroporte are, and I don't want to hear "because its a Maserati" or "Lotus is special," those aren't legit reasons.

i would happily lose Elise's, and Quattroporte's

only looking at the featured page isnt the answer
its about making the unfeatured page somewhere that people actually want to look at to see what people uploaded, which cool spots can go unseen due to then being buried by cars people dont really wanna see

Lose Elise's and Quattroporte's????!?! Danny what are you smoking!

Not sure, but for once I must disagree with Danny.

Elise's and Quattroporte's rarely do well, they get alittle likes and no comments apart from the odd few that get a couple

they arnt worth uploading unless its a really stand out picture

i used to think the same way, but then i realised uploading cars like the mustang and other cars like the elise etc is totally pointless

if the car doesnt do well then its pointless uploading it, have pride in your uploads, you dont wanna see a bunch of pictures with a couple of likes and no comments

by only uploading cars people are interested in seeing the unfeatured section will get more attention and everyones photos will get more comments

people dont come here to see a mustang they come to see Ferraris and Lamborghinis

Maserati doesn't plan to sell 50,000 Quattroportes a year by 2015. They plan to sell that many cars. Exotic tends to imply rare. If a fruit is exotic, it tends to be from somewhere far away and hard to find. It isn't punishing the car being favored, the company could limit the production, or better yet make it more of a bespoke model. All this current one is is just a powerful Mustang.
