I like the Prius for some reasons, and I dislike the Prius for some reasons. It is very economical, but it is also not the prettiest car. No matter the reasons, Toyota sure did an excellent job creating a car that is pretty much synonymous and automatically thought of when mentioning great gas mileage.

Yet the manufacturing prcesses of making just ONE prius does more environmental damage than a Range Rover.

People who buy Priuses do not want to hear that. They want to feel like they are helping the environment, and I guess technically they are using less gasoline than your typical family sedan. But they aren't as great of a value as they are hyped up to be; compared to something like a Corolla Eco or Mazda3, it will take years and years of driving to make up the difference in cost based on the small amount of money you save because of fewer stops, especially with gas at under $2.00 a gallon.

Gas isn't going to stay this cheap forever. It's likely going to go back to normal before too long, so don't get excited. The Prius used to be really one of a very small number of options for a super economic car, now that isn't the case though, making them seem like less of a value than before.
