We finally came to an understanding! I never thought that was going to happen.

Agreed! Here's a little food for thought though, just to add a bit more perspective....http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/06/22/102-things-not-to-do/....and I know the California is a so called 'chick' Ferrari, but I like them none-the-less! The only modern Ferrari I'd seriously consider though would be a 599 GTO!

I find it odd how everything that happens in the government is blamed on the presidential administration, even if they could do hardly a thing about it. Back to the matter at hand though, higher taxes can be helpful, like I said, but only if it is for necessities, like getting the us out of this recession. The healthcare plan could work fine if it wasn't forced upon those who don't have it, and if it didn't keep climbing in price. We need to focus on getting the nation, and indeed the world out of this recession, and we can't do that by spending money on thing's that could kill jobs. We can't wallow around in this debt forever, and the only way to get rid of it is too decrease spending on non-essential things and to raise taxes (not by too much though).

Seeing how the health care system here in Germany works, up close and personal, I want my country to be more willing to take better care of it's less advantaged citizens. Obamacare is a move in the right direction. It's not perfect, but no large government project is. I am more concerned with waste in general. I work for the Army. I see this waste of my tax dollar, again, up close and personal. Little example: a recent colleague of mine had his job eliminated. The government bought him out, to leave. $26,000! Only thing was, his wife was the bread-winner and she had taken a job back in the States. He was leaving anyway! Just a small example of a much wider problem. Government inefficiency. That's where our true issues lie. That's not Obama's fault, it wasn't Bush's fault, or any other ex-prez while they were in office either. The system is inherently flawed. Slashing and eliminating programs that help people (and lowering taxes for us rich folk) ain't the way out. There was a quote I recently read, and I can't remember who said it, but it was something to the effect, "I like paying taxes. It buys me civilization." Over here, they buy us properly smooth roads, too!

By slashing government spending he doesn't mean cutting it away from necessities, he means cutting it from the thing's Obama has spent it on like Obamacare, the Stimulus Package, etc. I'm also pretty pissed off at him for saying that small business owners "didn't build that." At one time every business was a small business, and he just said that the hard work of hundreds of millions over the years wasn't even their work. I'm actually fine with raised taxes, but only if it's for stuff that actually needs to happen. I do not want to help pay the $1.1 trillion (or whatever it's up to now) for Obamacare. Especially when it's going to ruin some businesses and possibly put people out of a job.

I'm a millionaire and I like big government! I guess that makes me a bad American, eh? Well, maybe not big government, but properly funded government.....smoothly funded government. Money spent well. That is where we need to concentrate our efforts, as usual. A lot of Paul Ryan's wealth came from his family building roads in Wisconsin being paid for by the government. Look it up. And he wants to slash government spending? It's amazing to me to see how no one really bitches about paying high taxes here in Europe, where as in the States, it seems that Americans needlessly bitch about them ad nauseam. Again, I'm rich, and a socialist. Can you get your head around that? Is such a thing even possible?

That free country stuff is complete BS, we live in a country based on Capitalistic principles, if we were in a free country we could do anything.

This is my final statement. How can they possibly lower the deficit by adding 50% to it?

That's not true. The Obama administration has been very active in trying to reduce the deficit where ever it can. It can't help it much if the U.S. tax rates are kept at unsustainable levels. And I mean that as being not high enough! Back to the original posit, Germany's road are awesome because rich people don't mind much if they have to pay for them!

Need I remind you that the Obama administration has spent more than any other president in history? I am all for helping the poor, but they don't need all the benefits they get now. There are people out there who keep taking advantage of these benefits by having many kids so they will recieve help by the government, and then there are more people who are stuck in the lower class. We should help the lower class on our own terms, not be forced to by the government. Then there are the people who sit on their asses all day, not bothering to try and get a job, or are protesting that they need more benefits instead of trying to get a job. I don't want any my family's money, which has been hard earned after years of labor, going toward these people who aren't bothered to get a job, and are just living on the governments benefits. I am perfectly fine to help those who are unemployed, and are attempting to get a job, or have tried and are awaiting results. I don't want to be paying for all of the money Obama has wasted on useless spending (Obamacare, Stimulus), I don't want my kids to pay for it, and I don't want their kids to pay for it. If I want to help people, I want to help them when I damn well want to, not forced by a government who's wasting the nations money, and who can't help but make laws that try to take away people's rights (i.e. recent internet bills).

Trying to correct the mistakes of the previous White House is a monumental task and cannot be done overnight, or even during a number of administrations, perhaps. It will take many years to heal that wound and a lot of money. I've got resources, and I don't mind paying taxes because of this. Surely, there are mistakes on our current administration's account, but they pale in comparison. Maybe I've lived outside of America too long, but from what I see where I live, it doesn't have to be so frictional. Nobody likes paying taxes, but it seems to me, that rich Americans (not all, just a very vocal portion) and hope-to-be-rich Americans, tend to bitch about high taxes and how to lower them, so much so, that they have hi-jacked the discourse. What about compassion? What about taking care of the weakest among us? What about keeping our roads properly smooth? Looks like many people don't want to pay for the underprivileged. Perhaps they don't really agree with Christ's teachings? They seem to really like the 'Gods & Clods' notion, I reckon! And yet, I love this car and the surface it glides upon!

What you mean the FIVE TRILLION that the current administration has spent in office? I admit the last administration wasn't great, but this one certainly is not better.

Sorry, I am an American so I can say this. We're paying for the mistakes of the previous administration, not the current one.

Lucky, I wish America's roads were that way, but we have to pay for all of Obama's mistakes now instead of better roads. It also takes them 20 years to get anything done.

Germans have nicely maintained roads because they don't mind paying higher taxes to keep them that way!

We hit a bump at 55 MPH that was so bad, we actually scraped the bottom of the Ferrari on it, possibly causing its recent oil leak.

Our roads in the USA aren't taken care of at all, it's too expensive to repair them with the unions so they just let them turn into the surface of the moon. I've hit bumps on highways tall enough to rip my oil pan off and not see them get fixed for over 10 years.
